This is a plastic face. I was able to use two of the inside metal pcs to sit the microwave on but the face did not fit my space.

It's plastic! Our old trim kit was brushed aluminum.

After two attempts and by cutting our newly installed cabinets to fit this trim to make it look integrated; It left us a gap in the cabinet! this piece is poorly designed and definitely doesn't corporate well with cabinet! Unfortunately the only option we have is to send the whole cabinet piece to be made again which will cost more.

I don’t like it being plastic. It looks cheap. I had to have it for the space otherwise I would return.

Junky look, not fitting with the paired microwave

This unit is being sold as specifically matching Profile Microwave oven PEB9159SJSS. Disappointing in how this looks and problems with integration with the newly redesigned look of other Profile appliances: 1. Purchased the microwave oven with this trim to match the "look" of Profile oven PKS7000SNSS, which was going to be installed right below the microwave/trim set. THe recent changes in the Profile oven included squaring off corners of the unit, and removing SS top trim of the oven itself. The trim as sold reflect the "old", more rounded look of Profile appliances. The result is quite unattractive and defeats the purpose of purchasing a unifying look of the line. 2. The vertical and horizontal reveal representing the spacing between the trim and the microwave is just plain ugly. The widths horizontal and vertical reveals do not match, with the vertical reveals leaving too much space and instead revealing ugly black plastic of the trim unit. 3. The trim is made out of plastic, feel like plastic and may scratch like plastic with use. The surface sides are painted black plastic that just defy understanding of how any designer came up with this product. Overall, a terrible mistake for GE continue to offer this particular trim, made as is, and marketed after changing/modernizing the rest of the Profile line. Back to the store to return it and the microwave (even though there was nothing per se wrong with the microwave itself). But to unify the look, it was left up to this customer to deal with the consequences of a bad design/marketing choices and having to opt to pursue very expensive customized trims to fit the oven that was sold to us, that turned out to be non-refundable and non-returnable, once out of a package.

outer cover, what can be seen and felt squeaks badly if touched. Very cheap and thin. the guts On the insides, (vent system and supports) are great. Microwave just okay and feel I overpaid for this system. I would NOT spend the money again

Exposed plastic and screw holes

Bought this for the PEB9159SJSS microwave we bought to install in a cabinet. Since the installation is below eye level, you can see the unfinished top of the trim kit, which is ugly black plastic rather than stainless steel with two gaping screw holes and insets. The GE microwave this new one replaced had a nice, completely finished trim kit. Very disappointed
